The Leeds United midfielder had a disappointing first season at the club.

Leeds United signed so many players last summer that it was easy to lose track of some of the younger additions.
One such example was Madger Gomes, brought in following his spell at Liverpool and impressing in the early pre-season friendlies before continuing his development with Leeds’ under-23s.

While the Spaniard showed glimpses of his ability last summer, and did well in EFL Cup games against Port Vale and Newport County, he has not been seen since, with former Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen clearly not rating the 21-year-old.
Given his age it was always going to take Gomes time to settle in his new surroundings but, after starting the recent friendly against Myanmar All Stars, could there be hope for a turnaround ahead of next season?

After all, there is sure to be a squad overhaul at Elland Road and current manager Paul Heckingbottom will be looking for Leeds’ next generation to stake their claim.
Gomes has the talent to be in and around the senior side next season, and his ability to play both centrally and out wide means he could be the answer to a few different problems over a long campaign.
Leeds have some of the most exciting teenage talent in England and the slightly older Gomes will know his opportunity to impress will only last so long.
