Leigh Griffiths has scored at a prolific rate for Celtic – and Leeds United could bring him back to England two years after being priced out.

He certainly would have helped. The Whites won just two of their last eleven games and lost three without scoring a goal in April as the pressure on talismanic top scorer Chris Wood proved too much.
Therefore, you could forgive the club for taking steps to ensure an identical, late-season collapse doesn’t happen again. And Express and Star claim Leeds are battling former club Wolves back to England from Celtic in the summer.
An expert goal poacher who has netted 64 goals in 94 league games in three and a half years in Celtic colours, Griffiths surely possesses the predatory instinct required to ensure Leeds would not be so reliant upon Wood going forward.

And, after starting just 15 Scottish Premiership games in the season just gone, it would not be a surprise if Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was open to letting him go. In the club’s loan striker system, the all-round excellence of Moussa Dembele has often left Griffiths on the bench.
Nonetheless, this is not the first time Leeds have been linked with an ambitious swoop for the former Wolves man.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, The Whites wanted to sign the 26-year-old in the summer of 2015 after Griffiths had plundered 20 goals in 41 games in all competitions north of the border.
However, Leeds were priced out of a deal, having just finished an obscure 15th in the Championship table. These days, the Yorkshire side have genuine ambitions of reaching the Premier League and are not afraid to splash the cash to get there.
Signing Griffiths would show just how far the club has come in two years.
