Mateusz Klich has arguably been one of Leeds United’s best performers in pre-season, but may now perhaps be concerned by the Whites’ reported bid.
Unsurprisingly, Leeds appear to be putting their foot on the gas when it comes to the summer window after an extremely quiet start that has so far only seen two loan signings arrive. The Mail also suggested that an enquiry for Patrick Bamford has been made.
It remains to be seen if Leeds return with a fresh offer for Romanchuk, but if the Whites do go back in, perhaps it may prove bad news for one of the players who has arguably given Bielsa most to ponder during pre-season.
Mateusz Klich went into this summer with a major question mark lingering over his future with the Championship club. He spent the second-half of his first season with the Whites out on loan and the fans would have been forgiven for expecting the 28-year-old to potentially be on his way out on a permanent basis during this window.
Of course, that may still prove to be the case, but there is no question that Klich has done a fantastic job of staking a claim to Bielsa. In fact, it is somewhat difficult to think of another member of the senior squad who has provided more of a pleasant surprise this summer – though there have been a handful of contenders.
But with Leeds’ midfield options already looking stacked, that question mark surrounding Klich’s situation will arguably return should the Whites step up their attempts to sign his countryman.
Klich has arguably done well enough – even when you consider the standard of opposition faced thus far – to earn another chance, but if Romanchuk arrives at Elland Road this summer, it would appear that he could once again face an uphill battle trying to get into the side.
