The young prospects recently swapped Barcelona for Leeds United and a League Cup bow is not beyond the realms of possibility.
While Leeds United’s senior side looks considerably different following a summer of significant investment, the same can be said of their second string.
After a poor previous campaign for the Whites’ under-23s, a revamp has taken place, with Victor Orta’s influence paying dividends with former Barcelona youngsters Kun Temenuzhkov and Oriol Rey among those to arrive at Elland Road.

So what chance the 17-year-old forward or the 19-year-old centre-back getting a place on the bench for the upcoming League Cup clash against Port Vale?
The problem for the teenagers is the sheer number of players ahead of them in the pecking order following Thomas Christiansen’s overhaul.
The recently appointed Leeds manager has worked wonders, strengthening in a number of key areas, and even with a completing differently starting XI from the one that overcame Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, Leeds could have a side the envy of many in the second tier.
The likes of Samu Saiz, Rob Green, Caleb Ekuban, Mateusz Klich and Ronaldo Vieira should all start on Wednesday, but that does not mean the new Leeds teenagers could not get a chance from the bench.
Bulgarian sensation Temenuzhkov in particular would be a secret weapon from the bench – an unfamiliar goal-scorer once tipped for greatness at the Nou Camp only to opt for a stint in Yorkshire.
Rey is older and more likely to be needed given the defensive problems currently impacting the club, but only time will tell if Leeds fans see two of their most exciting new prospects step off the bench in the second half.
