Stuart Dallas has enjoyed some better form for Leeds United lately, but it is still some way short of his best.
Stuart Dallas
Stuart Dallas has a brilliant opportunity to, once again, establish himself as Leeds United’s first-choice winger with none of the other wide-men really making themselves undroppable lately, and luckily for the Northern Irishman, he is returning to a ground this week that saw him put in arguably his best performance in a Whites shirt.
When Dallas arrived at Elland Road, his initial form suggested that he was going to be one of the most important signings the club had made for years following a string of poor acquisitions when it came to wide options down the years.
After a promising first season, his form seemed to dip this campaign following a summer which saw him feature for his country at Euro 2016, and it has arguably only been in recent weeks that his performances have looked better, with goals coming against Blackburn and Ipswich.
But could the club’s next game see the 25-year-old reignite the form that made him so valuable to the Whites for the majority of last season?
On Friday night, Garry Monk’s men travel to face Birmingham City in a game where the Whites will be looking to bag a three points that will strengthen their position inside the Championship play-off places. It is also a fixture which saw Dallas put in perhaps his best performance for the club last season.

The former Brentford man scored both goals as Leeds went on to win 2-1 at St Andrew’s. And while Dallas may be trying not to dwell on last year’s performance, he can surely take a tremendous amount of confidence from that display and that may help him take his game to the level that he has only threatened to reach this term.
And if does find that level and sustains that over the coming weeks, then Monk may be able to nail down one of his winger selections ahead of what could be a massive few months for the club.
