Steve Bruce has confirmed that Aston Villa could be without Jonathan Kodjia for months, while Scott Hogan is also injured.

Just when life seemed to be quite rosy for Aston Villa fans, Steve Bruce confirmed to the Daily Mail that the side are set to be without Jonathan Kodjia for a number of months due to injury – while Scott Hogan is also sidelined currently.
The Villans are flying high in the Championship, and if Kodjia’s injury is as serious as feared, then it would be absolutely no surprise to see the club try to use the transfer market in January to try and ensure that their promotion challenge does not suffer too much.

However, in the meantime, perhaps it would be worth Bruce handing one of the brightest youngsters currently coming through at Villa Park a chance in the first-team as a reward for his fine form for the club’s under-23s.
Callum O’Hare has made three substitute appearances in the Championship this season, and while he is yet to score for the senior side, he did provide an assist in the defeat to Sheffield Wednesday before the international break.

The 19-year-old has been fantastic for the youth side this term however, scoring five goals in six games including a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Newcastle at the end of October.
Without Kodjia and Hogan, Villa do not have an abundance of options to pick from up front unless Bruce considers deploying a makeshift striker, so perhaps taking a gamble on giving O’Hare a prolonged run in the side may prove to be a wise idea as he has the potential to make the grade in the first-team, and perhaps now is the perfect opportunity.
