The Everton youngster deserves a run-out before the season comes to an end.
With another season coming to an end, Everton have the chance to give some of their exciting young players a chance to impress when they take on Arsenal this Sunday.
The Toffees did something similar last season, when the likes of Tom Davies and Kieran Dowell featured against Norwich City on the final day, and the latter will no doubt be hoping for another chance this time round.
While Davies has blossomed under Everton manager Ronald Koeman, fellow teenager Dowell has had to make do with a string of under-23 appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in the process. And with the Toffees having little left to play for against the Gunners, the winger deserves another shot.
Arsenal have to win the match and hope Liverpool or Manchester City slip up in the race for a top-four finish, but Koeman needs to do what is best for his side and giving Dowell another run-out could help him follow in the footsteps of Davies in 2018.
Everton are likely to considerably strengthen this summer, meaning some of their young guns could see their chances limited.
Dowell will not want to spend another season with the second string if he can help it, and a solid performance on Sunday could earn him a loan move or more chances in the senior side in pre-season and beyond.
The Everton youngster recently made it on to our list of the top 50 teenagers in English football and the future looks bright, provided he gets his opportunities to impress.
