Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers sent promising striker Ryan Hardie on loan this past summer.

Ryan Hardie of St Mirren misses a fine chance during the match beTFRED Cup Group Stage match between St Mirren and Edinburgh City at St Mirren Park on July 30, 2016 in Paisley, Scotland.

Former Rangers hitman Kenny Miller left his player-manager role at Livingston on Sunday.

The 38-year-old left Rangers at the end of last season and wound up joining the Premiership side in a double role, but lasted only seven weeks before his sudden exit.

It is thought that Miller wanted to remain as a full-time player, and could the decision to leave benefit one Gers man?

Promising striker Ryan Hardie is on loan at Livingston and he would have played under Miller when he returned from injury, but was perhaps not guaranteed to start.

But Miller’s departure means that first-team football is now a lot more likely for the 21-year-old marksman.

Hardie, a Rangers academy graduate, might’ve been looking forward to working under such a legendary Scottish striker, but there’s no denying that with Miller out of the picture, the youngster could and probably will find himself with more chances in the first XI due to the decreased competition.

Hardie, who impressed at Livingston on loan during the second half of last season, suffered a foot injury which sidelined him in their promotion run-in, but he will fancy his chances of going straight into the side when he returns.
