The Argentine youngster joined Tottenham Hotspur this summer but he will be eased into his new surroundings.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he would take it slowly when it comes to Juan Foyth’s transition with the club.
The 19-year-old signed for Spurs from Estudiantes in the recent transfer window but, with Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen all ahead of him in the pecking order, it could be a while before fans see him in Premier League action.

That is not to say the teenager will not make his Tottenham debut any time soon, with the upcoming EFL Cup clash against either Barnsley or Derby County offering the ideal chance for Foyth to get some game time, especially when you consider Spurs look set to play three centre-backs in the coming weeks.
As a consequence, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino may need to turn to Foyth and Eric Dier if he rests some of his first-choice trio for the domestic cup, especially now that Cameron Carter-Vickers has headed to Sheffield United on loan.

Foyth is not expected to take Tottenham by storm this season. However he will want to get some minutes under his belt and a cup clash against lower league opposition could be the best option.
The further Tottenham go in the competitions, the more pressure will be on them, and Foyth needs to get his feet under the table and get the proverbial monkey of his impending debut off his back.
Sanchez already looks like a first-team regular, meaning Foyth could be Tottenham’s back-up central defender if and when required.
Spurs’ third round clash takes place on 19 September, which means Foyth could get his first taste of action in the club’s shirt in just seven days.
