Celtic are reportedly keen on the services of CD America’s Jose Cifuentes.

When Celtic signed Victor Wanyama in 2011, he arrived as an unknown figure and from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot. The rest is history because he wrote his name in the Parkhead legendary books.
During his early years at Celtic, Wanyama was an aggressive 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who loved dominating the middle of the park with his sheer strength and ability to sense danger. The fact that he is now playing for a top-quality English Premier League club says it all.
But could Celtic be signing the next Wanyama in Jose Cifuentes?
The Scottish Sun recently claimed that the Bhoys are aiming to beat Manchester City to CD America midfielder Cifuentes, who has just featured for Ecuador at the Under-20 World Cup.
Just like Wanyama was eight years ago, he is a 20-year-old unknown figure, a defensive-minded midfielder, and someone who could just prove to be a stunning signing in years to come.
Celtic have been known to pick out these gem signing from Wanyama to Virgil van Dijk, who is now regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

If Cifuentes does sign for Celtic, and if he does have the same impact as Wanyama did then his future will look very bright and Neil Lennon will be grinning with joy.
The Scottish Premiership champions are in need of defensive-minded midfielder. Scott Brown isn’t getting any younger and they need a new player deploying that position.
A player with Cifuentes resume would be the ideal signing for Celtic because he wouldn’t command huge money, he is a highly-rated talented with years ahead of him. Plus he has a great group of players to learn from at Parkhead.
