The 19-year-old has still not penned a new deal at the London Stadium, and Dortmund are keen to swoop.
Whether a move to Dortmund would have appealed to Rice in the past is up for debate, but he has reason to believe that it could be great for his development now.
Sancho joined Dortmund as a youngster, and his form with the Bundesliga side has elevated him into the senior England squad.
Rice is currently contemplating his international future, but Sancho’s success at Dortmund, could encourage him to make a move away from West Ham.
And the Hammers will be hoping that Rice pens a new deal sooner rather than later, so Dortmund’s interest does not turn into something more concrete.
