Darragh MacAnthony hinted that Aston Villa had offered £8 million for Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison in January.

Aston Villa may have become the favourites to land both Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison after Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony’s latest comments.
And MacAnthony has now said that he would not be surprised if Maddison and Marriott ended up at the same club next season.
The natural assumption now is that Villa could well be leading the race to land the duo.
Maddison and Marriott both look set to leave Posh at the end of the season, as they have failed to earn promotion from League One.

Villa may need to win the play offs to get their hands on the pair though.
The claret and blues have narrowly missed out on a top two spot, with Steve Bruce’s men now guaranteed to finish in fourth place.
Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Millwall at The Den.
