Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva would be an excellent addition for clubs such as Celtic, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.
Italy’s Antonio Candreva in action
Despite joining Inter Milan at the beginning of this season, interest from the Premier League in Italian winger Antonio Candreva has been high, according to a report from Italian news outlet Il Messaggero.
The wide man, who has scored seven goals in 36 appearances for Inter this season, recently turned down an offer from a Premier League club, according to the player’s agent.
With interest in the player rising after his real resurgence in the second half of this season for Inter Milan, HITC Sport is taking a look at three possible summer destinations for the Italian winger.
1. Celtic
General view of Celtic Park
Brendan Rodgers will be preparing to strengthen his squad this summer as the Glasgow giants look to secure yet another Scottish top flight title as well as another great run in the Champions League. To do this, Celtic are going to need to start ambitiously attracting some of Europe’s best and brightest, as well as players with experience. At 30-years-old, Antonio Candreva could offer that experience, and may well be tempted by a shot at Champions League football and a chance to play in front of that Celtic support.
2. West Ham United
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
After losing Dimitri Payet in January, West Ham United have been lacking that one special player who can make things happen out of nothing. One who wouldn’t look out of place in one of Europe’s top sides. Antonio Candreva could be just that player. Known for his excellent free-kicks, goals and assists, the 30-year-old may well be tempted by a move to the Premier League, and a chance to play at the London Stadium. However, West Ham United’s lack of European football could be a stumbling block.
3. West Bromwich Albion
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
After an excellent season, Tony Pulis will be praying he is given the funds to take West Bromwich Albion to the next level next season, as the club look to push on for a potential Europa League place. The Baggies brought in players such as Nacer Chadli and Hal Robson-Kanu in the summer, but many West Bromwich Albion fans would love to see the club go big and secure some top class talent. With Candreva potentially available, amid interest from other Premier League clubs, Tony Pulis would be smart to do his business early and tempt the Italian winger with a shot at the Premier League.
