Everton, West Ham United and Newcastle United are linked with the Algerian.

According to reports from Le Buteur, Everton are among those interested in signing Leicester City’s Islam Slimani in January.
The Algerian outlet reported that Everton, along with Newcastle United and West Ham United, were considering offering the 29-year-old winger an escape route from the King Power Stadium.
Reports from Canal Plus in France this week linked Cristian Gourcuff with the vacant managerial position at Goodison Park and, should he join, it may give the Toffees an advantage over West Ham and Newcastle in the race to sign the Algeria international.

Slimani played under Gourcuff for two years for the Algeria national side between 2014 and 2016, scoring an impressive 11 goals and setting up another six during that period.
Those statistics indicate that the French manager, who left his role at Rennes earlier this month, knows how to get the best out of a figure who has done little to justify his £29 million transfer fee.

The reported Everton target, who joined the Foxes 18 months ago, is yet to score from seven Premier League appearances this season, grabbing eight in 29 games from all competitions last term.
If Gourcuff does wind up going to Goodison Park, his presence may hold the key to Everton pipping Newcastle and West Ham, if they are indeed interested.
