Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a huge boost in pursuit of a 55th Scottish Premiership title if the rumours about one Celtic man are true.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic could be without Filip Benkovic for the rest of the season – and what a massive boost this could be for Rangers.
Benkovic has been a defensive rock during his season-long loan at Celtic, but Rangers will benefit in a huge way if the reports of his unspecified ‘leg injury’ are true.
Steven Gerrard’s side are only three points behind the top-of-the-table Hoops and, with Dedryck Boyata also injured, the absence of the Croat could throw their defence into pure disarray.
Think about it: Brendan Rodgers could be forced to rely on a 20-year-old Kristoffer Ajer and an error-prone Jozo Simunovic as his centre-back duo. And if one of those is absent for whatever reason, Jack Hendry is next in the pecking order.
It doesn’t look great.
Even with Boyata and Benkovic, Rangers haven’t let their Old Firm rivals run away it this season, and with Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe now in tow, it’s really not a stretch to consider that the 21-year-old’s reported injury could be the slice of luck that the Gers need.
Every serious title race has its defining moments, and if Gerrard does deliver the light Blues’ 55th league title come May then the absence of Benkovic – a £13 million signing by Leicester City in August [Sky Sports] – could be it.
