After being sacked by West Brom would Tony Pulis be tempted by the Hull job if they part ways with Leonid Slutsky?

Leonid Slutsky is on the verge of being sacked by Hull City, reports the Telegraph, due to a poor start to the new season following his appointment over the summer.

After their 0-0 draw at newly promoted Millwall on Tuesday (November 21) the Tigers have not won in five Championship matches and sit in 20th position in the table, four points outside the drop zone.

When he East Yorkshire club were relegated from the Premier League they did lose several of their key players in Sam Clucas, Harry Maguire and Andrew Robertson, but the Hull hierarchy still believe Slutsky should be performing better than he currently is.

According to the Sun, Nigel Adkins and Paul Lambert have emerged as the early favourites to replace the Russian should he be dismissed, but could they instead tempt Tony Pulis?

Pulis is currently out of a job after his own axing by West Bromwich Albion on Monday (November 21) but despite losing the support of the Baggies fans following a run of just two wins in 21 matches, the Welshman still has a strong reputation in the game.

The 59-year-old has never been relegated in his career and has a good history of promotion having taking Gillingham and Stoke City up in the past – the latter from the second tier into the top flight in 2008.

Since that success with the Potteries, Pulis has managed exclusively in the Premier League so tempting him to the KCOM Stadium would be something of a coup, but with his stock quite low at the moment it is still a realistic prospect.
