Hull City manager Nigel Adkins was spotted at Ibrox as Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 in a Scottish Premiership clash to move ahead of their opponents into second place.

The Scotsman reports that Adkins was present to watch Dons’ Scott McKenna in action, with the Tigers having a long held interest in the centre-back.

However, could the 52-year-old have also have been keeping an eye on the Gers stars and more specifically Josh Windass, who has already caught the eye of other Championship clubs during the January transfer window?

Preston North End have had a £500,000 bid for Windass rejected this month, as reported by the Daily Record, while Leeds United are also keen on the attacking midfielder.

The 24-year-old – who is the son of former Hull ace Dean – joined the Glasgow outfit from Accrington Stanley in the summer of 2016 and has impressed, scoring 23 goals in 86 matches in all competitions since.

Adkins is likely to be seriously looking at recruitment this month with his team currently struggling in the second tier of English football, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference following defeat to Sunderland at the weekend.
