Hull City have asked Chelsea for Jeremie Boga on loan in a deal which could give Newcastle United hope of landing Kamil Grosicki.

Hull City surely appointed Leonid Slutsky based on what he knows, rather than who. Though it’s fair to say the former Russia manager’s close relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is opening doors at the KCom Stadium.

According to The Mirror, Hull are set to land highly-rated Blues full-back Ola Aina on a season-long loan deal and have also enquired about 20-year-old winger Jeremie Boga.

The latter, a one-time Ivory Coast international, is one of the most exciting attacking talents in Chelsea’s youth ranks but is yet to make his senior debut for the Premier League champions.

However, after spending time at Rennes and Granada, where he was relegated from La Liga last season under the stewardship of Tony Adams, Boga will be hopeful of following in the footsteps of fellow Chelsea starlets Tammy Abraham and Kasey Palmer in enjoying an impressive loan spell in the Championship.

And the former France youth international could be the ideal replacement for Kamil Grosicki. The Polish international impressed when swapping Rennes for Hull in January, winning the PFA Fan’s Player of the Month award in April.

However, despite tallying three assists, his lively performances failed to prevent Marco Silva’s side succumbing to relegation. Though it appears he will be handed a Premier League lifeline.

Humberside to Tyneside?

The Hull Daily Mail claim that Newcastle United are interested, manager Rafael Benitez is desperate for a winger, and Hull will not stand in Grosicki’s way of returning to the top flight – though they want £9 million for his services.

Fortunately, Benitez’s agent, Manuel Garcia, told Przeglad Sportowy that The Magpies would be prepared to pay exactly that amount.

And a deal for Boga, which looks entirely likely, could make Hull even more receptive to offers for their prized asset.

Chelsea’s charity could inadvertently help Newcastle United land one of their top transfer targets.
