Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign the Newcastle United forward.

Ownership changes could be about to scupper Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans, just like they did last summer.
Spurs appeared to be on the verge of snapping up Jack Grealish from Aston Villa last year, until a change of owners at the Championship club blocked the move.
Villa had more financial strength after Tony Xia left, and quickly raised the asking price for Grealish, which caused Tottenham to back away from the deal.
History could now be about to repeat itself, with Spurs chasing Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez.

If Sheikh Khaled does take over at Newcastle it will make them one of the richest clubs in the country, and the new owners will surely want to keep Perez – who has been one of their key players in recent seasons.
Tottenham, therefore, could be set to miss out on a key target again, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side potentially being forced to look elsewhere.
