Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans made his first appearance of the season on Thursday evening.
Graham Dorrans looks like he could be a different player for Glasgow Rangers this season, if Thursday night’s display was anything to go by.
Dorrans had mixed success at Rangers after moving to them last term, with injury derailing his campaign.
Even before he was sidelined, Dorrans did not always put in great performances in a central midfield role.
However, the 31-year-old’s cameo against Villarreal two nights’ ago was highly encouraging.
Steven Gerrard brought Dorrans on in a more advanced role, and even though he played less than 10 minutes the signs were hugely promising.
Dorrans actually almost helped to win the game for Rangers with a scintillating piece of play.
The midfielder danced around at Villarreal defender before slotting the ball into Scott Arfield’s path, but the midfielder just couldn’t capitalise.
Dorrans did his chances of featuring more regularly no harm, and Rangers fans should be encouraged that the former Norwich City man could become an important player this term in a more advanced role, if last night’s cameo was anything to go by.
