West Bromwich Albion recently appointed Giuliano Terraneo as their new technical director.

With relegation still looking to be on the cards – despite their stunning win over Manchester United at the weekend – there is a tremendous amount of intrigue surrounding what may go on at West Brom this summer.
They need to make a managerial appointment and probably get their squad ready for Championship football – and it seems highly likely that Giuliano Terraneo will have his fingers in several pies at The Hawthorns over the coming months given his recent appointment as technical director.

It is an appointment that has surprised many, and Terraneo will be hoping that he can win any of his doubters over by playing a part in getting some exciting players through the door ahead of a probable season in the second tier.
One player that it should not take West Brom fans by surprise if he ends up on the Baggies’ radar this summer is Lazar Markovic, the Liverpool winger that joined Fenerbahce on loan during the Italian’s time with the Turkish side.

Markovic’s time on the Reds’ books has been a major disappointment and it would be little surprise if Liverpool decided to try and shift the Serbia international off their books on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
But if they are unable to, perhaps West Brom should consider offering to take 24-year-old on loan next season as he could be an inspired signing for the Championship where he may find it slightly easier to thrive and show the talent that Liverpool fans have only had very occasional glimpses of thus far.
Liverpool have had no qualms about loaning him out during each of the last three seasons, and letting him move to another club in England may give him one final chance to prove that he should not be written off by his parent club entirely.
And if West Brom get the player that impressed during his brief spell at Hull in 2017, perhaps it may be the kind of signing that could make a huge difference as they look to bounce back at the first attempt.
