The Rangers winger was set to have his Ibrox exit sanctioned by Steven Gerrard.

The Rangers winger, Glenn Middleton, was due to have his Ibrox exit confirmed, according to The Doncaster Free Press.
Middleton played in all six of Rangers’ Europa League games last season, but was expected to head to England’s third tier in what would have been a coup for Doncaster Rovers.
But could developments in South Yorkshire – and indeed the county’s Eastern region – stop the Gers youngster in his tracks?
According to The Hull Daily Mail, Hull City are ‘very confident’ of appointing the Rovers boss, Grant McCann, by the end of this week, having made an official approach for the lifelong Rangers supporter.

And with interest said to be mounting in the Hull winger, Jarrod Bowen, it’s possible McCann will be keen to strengthen in Middleton’s position if he heads to the KCOM Stadium.
Middleton may again fit the bill in that case, while the player – not to mention Rangers and their manager, Steven Gerrard – would surely favour a Championship move.

Should the Rangers winger hold fire on joining Doncaster?
