Leyton Orient’s Harry Cornick and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon in action
Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of teams currently keeping a keen eye on Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to The Sun. And while moves to Liverpool or Everton would surely also appeal to the 16-year-old, Spurs perhaps have a wildcard that could potentially boost their chances of bagging his signature.
Sessegnon is arguably the brightest prospect in the Championship currently, and demonstrated how much potential he boasts by scoring twice for the Cottagers in their hugely impressive win over table-toppers Newcastle last weekend.
The Sun suggests that the Premier League trio are all monitoring him closely, with Liverpool confident that they will win the race for the £10 million rated youngster.
But perhaps one former White Hart Lane hero could make a difference.
Scott Parker is the current Fulham captain and also spent two quite successful years at Tottenham before his arrival at Craven Cottage, so perhaps his experience with Spurs may help their cause if the youngster goes to the skipper asking for advice.
Scott Parker
Of course, with Fulham chasing promotion, Parker and Sessegnon will surely be focusing solely on helping Slavisa Jokanovic’s side go up for now, and it seems unlikely that the midfielder will suggest the prospect moves on if they do end up reaching the Premier League.
But if Fulham fall short and Parker realises that Sessegnon is top flight-bound this summer, then perhaps he may suggest that joining his old club would be an excellent switch for his career.
