Derby are reportedly among the clubs tracking Robert Huth but should Nottingham Forest get one over on their rivals by signing the defender themselves?

It looks like Robert Huth will be a Championship player next season, with the Daily Mail reporting four sides from the division are interested in signing the defender following his release by Leicester City.
Huth’s former club Middlesbrough are the favourites to sign the 33-year-old, with Aston Villa, Derby County and West Bromwich Albion also thought to be in the hunt.

Derby may be hoping that the lure of manager Frank Lampard, who the German played alongside at Chelsea, might give them the edge in the race.
Who else might be interested?
Yet perhaps Nottingham Forest should look to get one over on their rivals and add some much needed support and experience at centre-back by signing Huth themselves?

Reds boss Aitor Karanka is being backed in the transfer market this summer having already signed Joao Carvalho, Michael Dawson and Diogo Goncalves.
However, despite Dawson’s acquisition, with Tobias Figueiredo returning to Sporting Lisbon following his loan spell and Jack Hobbs set to be released, central defence is an area that needs improving and perhaps Huth could be just the man to lead a promotion charge.
