Leeds United are reportedly interested in Oli McBurnie, and perhaps their hopes of a deal may be boosted by a former target.

With Oli McBurnie doing so well out on loan at Barnsley, Leeds may need all the help they can get if they hope to tempt the Scotland international to make the move to Elland Road this summer.
The Daily Mail recently suggested that the Whites are keen to sign the Swansea City-owned forward. But with McBurnie needing just 16 league appearances to bag nine goals and secure the Player of the Year award at Oakwell, it would hardly be a surprise if the Swans had their eye on keeping the youngster.

But with McBurnie’s contract set to expire at the end of next season – as reported by Swansea’s official website – he could perhaps back them into a corner if he wanted to and suggest that they would be better off selling him this summer as he has no intention of signing a new deal.
It remains to be seen what McBurnie feels about his future, but perhaps a former Leeds target could be about to boost the Whites’ chances of a deal.
The Guardian reported in August 2017 that Leeds had their eye on Newcastle United’s £10 million striker Dwight Gayle as they searched for replacements for Chris Wood. Of course, the move would not take place, but perhaps there is still a chance that he could help the Yorkshire outfit during the upcoming window.

The Sun has reported that Swansea are amongst the sides to have their eye on Gayle this summer. And if they manage to entice Gayle to the Liberty Stadium, it may not be out of the question for McBurnie to consider his future with the club.
Presumably, Gayle would be ahead of McBurnie in the pecking order. And if that is the case, then perhaps the 21-year-old will be left to consider his options, and that may leave Leeds with an opportunity – and Swansea may just be more willing to agree a deal given McBurnie’s contract situation.
