Everton were linked with a bid for Hirving Lozano just last month, so could a potential appointment lead to their interest intensifying?
Lozano has been sensational for the Eredivisie side this season. The Mexican has scored 11 times in 17 top flight games, while he has also provided four assists in the league.
Given how Davy Klaassen has struggled since moving from The Netherlands to Goodison Park however, the Toffees would perhaps be forgiven for hesitating when it comes to trying to sign Lozano, especially given the outlay.
But perhaps it may not be that great a surprise if Everton now look to step up their pursuit of Lozano should they manage to appoint Marcel Brands, as they are reportedly trying to do, according to the Daily Mirror.
Brands is the director of football at PSV, and the Mirror reports that the Premier League side want to add him to their recruitment team. Should they manage to make it happen, it would surely shock no one if they decided to make signing Lozano a top priority for some point down the line.
Brands would have played a role in attracting Lozano to Europe in 2017, and given how the 22-year-old has adapted since arriving, he may perhaps be tempted to try and sign him for a second time if he does end up on Merseyside and is looking to make an inspired recommendation straight away.
