Augsburg defender Philipp Max has admitted that he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

Left-backs seem poised to be popular in the January transfer window with Danny Rose, Luke Shaw and Ryan Sessegnon all tipped to be on the move this month.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham want Fulham sensation Sessegnon to replace Rose, whose prospective move to Manchester United would leave Shaw surplus to requirements.
One left-sided defender who has gone under the radar is Augsburg’s Philipp Max, who has previously been linked to Manchester City, Liverpool and United, as Goal.com reports.

The 24-year-old has made 75 appearances for Augsburg after spells with Schalke and Bayern Munich as a youngster, and has told Sport Bild of his desire to test himself in the Premier League.
“I’ve dreamed of playing abroad since I was a kid and I think the English league would be a good match for my straightforward style on the pitch,” Sport Bild quotes Max as saying.
With United apparently prioritising Rose, Fabian Delph filling in competently at City and Liverpool engulfed by Philippe Coutinho speculation, there could be an opportunity for a team outside of the top six to steal a march on Max.

Everton are in the market for a left-back, with 33-year-old Leighton Baines having suffered with injuries over recent seasons, and Newcastle United are short of quality, if not options, in the area.
Max is an exciting, attack-minded player who has 10 assists in 17 league appearances this season and, coming from a mid-ranking Bundesliga club, is likely to have affordable wages.
The German is on the cusp of recognition at senior international level but seems to be out of the immediate eyeline of bigger clubs, so would be a smart signing for either Everton or Newcastle.
