If Sean Dyche is given the Everton job will the Burnley boss look to bring James Tarkowski with him from Turf Moor?

Sean Dyche has emerged as the 11/10 clear favourite with Skybet to be appointed the next Everton manager following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.

According to Sky Sports the Toffees are set to make an approach for the Burnley boss over the next 24 hours, with Sam Allardyce and current caretaker David Unsworth also thought to be in the mix.

If, as expected, Dyche is given the job then will the 46-year-old look to bring any of his current Clarets squad across with him to Goodison Park once the January transfer window opens?

The Merseysiders are already on the back of a club record summer of spending, with £144.9m (Telegraph) outlayed on new players, but fresh funds are sure to be made available in the New Year to try and address what appears to be a lopsided squad.

One key problem area that Dyche could perhaps rectify with one of his stars from Turf Moor is central defence, with the Liverpool club having conceded 20 Premier League goals in ten games already this term – only bottom-placed Crystal Palace have let in more.

Ashley Williams has been greatly criticised, while captain Phil Jagielka is now 35-years-old. Michael Keane was signed from Burnley over the summer and will surely relish working under Dyche again and perhaps it would be tempting to partner him with James Tarkowski?

Tarkowski has greatly impressed since the departure of Keane and has helped the Lancashire outfit to the fourth best defensive record in England’s top tier in 2017/18, which is only bettered by the top three.

The former Brentford man has age on his side at 24-years-old and a growing reputation in the game and would also surely continue to flourish under the guidance of Dyche.
