It was reported yesterday that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is after a pacey wide-man this summer to improve his squad.
The Daily Mirror reports this has become a priority for the Spurs boss, who feels they lack pace out wide.
But could it be Tottenham have a potential option to fill this role already at the club?
DeAndre Yedlin spent last season on loan at Sunderland where he helped the club survive relegation to the Championship.
The USA international has largely been used as a right-back throughout his career but there have often been question marks about his defensive qualities.
What he does have, in abundance, is bags of pace.
The rapid 23-year-old is nearly unstoppable when he gets into top-gear. Tottenham once swapped a pacey left-back into a left-winger before – that player was Gareth Bale.

Whilst nobody would suggest that Yedlin could become another Bale, he could certainly save Tottenham a big pile of money in the transfer market by avoiding the expensive purchase of a winger – one of the most marketable positions in the game.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would certainly be pleased about that and Yedlin might just turn out to be a perfectwing convert.

At least, if Spurs cannot find a suitable transfer option, it is something they should consider going forward.
