According to the Daily Mirror (06/05, page 70), Chelsea are leading the race to sign Adama Traore from Middlesbrough.

Newcastle United are also keen to snap up the winger, but at £30 million he could be out of their price range.

Traore’s arrival at Stamford Bridge would simply put more obstacles in Kenedy’s way of breaking into Chelsea’s first-team.

That could encourage him to pursue a move and Newcastle have made no secret of their desire to snap the wide-man up.

Kenedy has been on loan with the Magpies this year, and his performances have been remarkable.

The Brazilian has helped Newcastle stay in the Premier League, and Rafael Benitez has made it clear he wants to sign the 22-year-old.

And if Traore does end up at Chelsea, it could serve as further encouragement for Kenedy to move back to St. James’ Park next season.
