Celtic risk frustrating Chelsea by pursuing Dominic Solanke.
England’s Dominic Solanke
Celtic continue to chase striker Dominic Solanke, with the Daily Record reporting they are hopeful of a deal.
Solanke was the star jewel in Chelsea’s youth system before his progress was overshadowed by Tammy Abraham and his chances limited by his contract impasse.
He is free to leave the Blues this summer, although Chelsea would be entitled to substantial compensation if he signed with another English club.

If he signs with Celtic on the other hand, Chelsea could receive just £400,000, just five per cent of the figure Liverpool would have to pay, with The Mirror estimating it at £8 million.
Solanke could be a superb signing for Celtic, but it could also be a serious own goal.
Chelsea are pursuing key Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, and were linked in January with making a £40 million move by The Express.

A report in the London Evening Standard last week claimed he remains on their three man shortlist of strikers to target this summer.
If Celtic do pursue Solanke, then they really risk incurring Chelsea’s anger, and make them determined to snap up their star man in retaliation.
It will also be a sign that Celtic are planning for life after Dembele, which they have to do, and encourage the Blues they will be successful with a big money offer.
