Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has worked with Joe Allen twice before in his career.

Stoke City’s relegation could be good news for Celtic, as it could enable them to snap up Joe Allen.

Stoke are currently looking odds-on to drop into the Championship, with Paul Lambert’s side sat in 19th place in the Premier League table.

The Potters are four points adrift of safety, and unless there is a dramatic turnaround in their form, they will surely go down.

If Stoke are relegated, then Celtic may just have a chance of securing the signing Allen.

Rodgers is known to be a huge fan of Allen, having worked with the midfielder at Liverpool and Swansea City.

And if he does have a chance to bring Allen to Celtic, he would surely jump at the opportunity.

The Bhoys would likely have to invest a sizeable fee to bring Allen to Parkhead, but the door may just be about to open for them to make an attempt.

And if Rodgers could bring Allen to Celtic, the Welsh international would surely be a wonderful addition at Parkhead.
