Celtic may be a great club for West Ham United’s talented youngster Reece Oxford to develop at.
West Ham United have struggled to find a temporary home for Reece Oxford in recent seasons, but the solution to their problem may not be too far away from home in Celtic.
West Ham are eager for Oxford to gain first-team experience away from the pressurised environment of the Premier League – and they have sent the youngster out on two loan spells in recent times.
Oxford went to Reading last season, but barely featured, and he has been shipped out to Germany this time around.
Oxford has joined Borussia Monchengladbach, but the 18-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance in the Bundesliga.
It is hard to see how Oxford has really benefited from either of his spells away from West Ham, but Celtic could be an ideal destination for the youngster.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are playing some mesmerising football, and have looked totally dominant in Scotland.
Rodgers also has a great track record of developing youngsters in Scotland, with Patrick Roberts reaping the rewards of a loan spell with the Glasgow side.
Although Celtic do have their own exciting prospect in the form of Kristoffer Ajer, they would be hard pushed to turn down a chance to sign Oxford.
The centre-back played Premier League football at 16 and did not look out of place, meaning he is regarded as one of England’s brightest talents.
And a move to Celtic could, therefore, be perfect for all parties – as West Ham look to make sure Oxford is ready for first-team action, before promoting him to their senior squad.
