Aston Villa are considering a January move for Burnley forward Jonathan Walters, according to the Express, as manager Steve Bruce looks for cheap options.
Villa need to be careful in the transfer window not to breach Financial Fair Play rules and therefore loan signings or free agents are the most likely targets.

Walters is under contract at Turf Moor until 2019 after a summer switch from Stoke City, but at 34-years-old and having played just three times so far this season, could still leave for a small fee.
The forward’s age may be a concern to some fans as the Villans already having the likes of Alan Hutton, Mile Jedinak, Christopher Samba, John Terry and Glenn Whelan on their books – all of whom are at least 33.

However, many of them have proven to be a success at Championship level this term and arguably players like them and Walters, who have Premier League experience, are the ideal characters in the short-term to get them back to the top flight.
The Birmingham side are only two places outside the automatic promotion spots in the second tier of English football currently and if the veterans can help them there then it doesn’t matter if they don’t have much longevity.
