Leeds United’s reward for defeating Burnley in the EFL Cup is a fourth round clash with another Premier League side, this time Leicester City, and two Bundesliga loanees could have a big say on the outcome of that tie.

Leeds brought Pierre-Michel Lasogga in on loan in the summer and the 25-year-old wasted little time proving his worth, scoring twice and setting up two more in a 5-0 victory against Burton Albion.

Another assist in the next game against Birmingham City showed the Leeds forward was more than just a plunderer and he is expected to contribute to many more goals in the months to come.

While Lasogga started on Leeds’ bench on Tuesday, it would be no surprise if he kicked off the match against the Foxes, with the Whites just 90 minutes away from the quarter-finals.

If he does, he looks set to come face-to-face with another Bundesliga loanee in the form of Aleksandar Dragovic.

The Austrian international signed for Leicester from Bayer Leverkusen, and he made his debut for the Foxes against Liverpool in the third round of the EFL Cup.

A solid performance in a 2-0 victory ensured Leicester fans were quick to praise their new defender, and he looks set to be tasked with keeping Leeds’ forwards at bay when the two sides meet next month.

It will be an interesting battle that ultimately determine the result, and with Leeds developing at a rate of knots under new manager Thomas Christiansen, another potential shock is well within the realms of possibility.
