Derby County and Sunderland could well be keeping a close eye on developments at Bristol City as the South West club reportedly target a new left-back.
According to Kristian Dyer, a journalist at New York newspaper Metro, the Robins have scouted New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence and are considering a move.
If the Bristol club do bring in Lawrence, then it would make the sale of their current left-back, Joe Bryan, all the more likely – someone who the Bristol Post says Derby and the Black Cats are interested in signing.
That report says that City would accept a bid of around £2.5m for Bryan, who has caught the eye of prospective suitors with his performances for the West Country side since coming through their academy and breaking into the first team in 2011.

Since then the 23-year-old has played 181 times for the Robins, operating in a variety of different positions. Bryan can play anywhere on the left flank and has bags of creativity going forward.
Both Sunderland and the Rams will be targeting promotion in 2017/18 and clearly view the City full-back as someone who can help them achieve that.
