Could Bonne hurt Sam Dalby’s hopes of making grade at Leeds?

Leeds United are reportedly amongst the host of clubs chasing non-league sensation Macauley Bonne.

It has been reported by TEAMtalk that Leeds are amongst the host of Championship clubs currently having a look at Leyton Orient striker Macauley Bonne as he continues to enjoy a wonderful run of form at Brisbane Road.

The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals in the National League this term, including six in his last five appearances. And it appears that that form has caught Leeds’ eye.

TEAMtalk suggests that the Whites are amongst a group of four second tier sides to scout Bonne recently.

If Leeds do manage to sign Bonne and he goes on to replicate anything like his current form at Elland Road, then it could prove to be a fantastic piece of business for the Whites.

But perhaps, it may not be such great news for one of Bonne’s former teammates.

Sam Dalby made the move from Orient to Leeds during the most recent January transfer window. The youngster has impressed during his time with the under-23s at Thorp Arch, but is still awaiting his first-team debut for the Whites.

Unfortunately for Dalby, he appears to be behind Ryan Edmondson in the pecking order consisting of the club’s young strikers. And with players such as Kemar Roofe, Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts ahead of the pair, he already appears to be facing a big battle to force his way into the plans anytime soon.

And perhaps it could now be one of his old teammates who comes in to make his challenge that much more difficult should Leeds win the race for Bonne’s signature.
