Aston Villa appear to have beaten Birmingham City in the race to sign John Terry.
According to the Metro, Aston Villa are closing in on signing John Terry ahead of Birmingham City.
Villa and Birmingham have both been trying to snap up Terry since his release from Chelsea, and it appears that Steve Bruce’s side have won the battle.
Birmingham will, understandably, be disappointed to lose out for Terry – but there may still be a way for them to have the last laugh over their Midlands rivals.

However, Terry’s arrival means that Roberts is unlikely to make a move to Villa Park.
Birmingham could now swoop, and prove that Roberts would have been a better buy than Terry after all.
Roberts is at the opposite stage of his career to Terry, but he has already proven to be a leading star at Championship level.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise up the leagues, and would improve the quality of Birmingham’s defensive options if he was to join.
And, although Villa are likely to feel very pleased with their capture of Terry, the long-term potential in Roberts could mean that Birmingham may have the opportunity to complete an even better deal, if they show an interest in the Barnsley man.
