Speaking on the Liverpool YouTube channel, Alisson Becker and Fabinho have been speaking about their Liverpool teammates’ golfing ability.
It’s well-known that footballers absolutely love to play golf in their spare time. It allows them to play a competitive sport other than football while carrying a minimal risk of injury.
Alisson says that there’s one player in the Liverpool team who he thinks could be a professional golfer – James Milner.
What’s been said?
Fabinho and Alisson spoke about the team and their golfing ability.
“We try to play golf in pre-season. Alisson was pretty good, but I was the worse player, I couldn’t hit the ball,” Fabinho said.
“Robbo thinks he’s good, but I think Millie (James Milner) could be a pro,” Alisson said.
Not surprising
For some strange reason, it’s really not surprising to hear that James Milner is an excellent golfer.
Perhaps it’s the fact that he’s so versatile on the football pitch, but Milner just seems like the type of sportsman who would be excellent at everything they put their hand to.
To be fair, there are plenty of footballers who double-up as great golfers. Gareth Bale is never off the course, while David Seaman even hit a hole in one earlier this month!
Perhaps the most famous of them all though is Carlos Tevez. The Argentinian stopped playing for Manchester City for months back in 2011/12 and all he seemed to do was play golf – he was even a caddy at The Open that year, but the less said about Andres Romero’s performance at that tournament the better.
