Aston Villa had Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan with them last season.

Axel Tuanzebe signing a new Manchester United contract does not necessarily rule out the potential of a move to Aston Villa.
The Mail had previously suggested that Dean Smith was trying to buy the 21-year-old for £8 million, after he impressed on loan at Villa Park last term.
It seems that the claret and blues have been unable to negotiate a price for Tuanzebe though, with the centre-back keen to stay at United.
Tuanzebe will almost definitely get a chance with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side over pre-season.
United are short of centre-backs, and it would be remiss of the Red Devils to not at least take a look at Tuanzebe.
His performances in these game could now be decisive over whether he ends up at Villa or not.
If Tuanzebe impresses then United are likely to keep him around, as they are short of options in defence.

However, if the youngster struggles then Solskjaer may just feel that another loan move would be beneficial for the prospect.
Smith’s side ideally wanted Tuanzebe back permanently, but they were previously not ruling out signing him for a season again.
And Villa fans may have just as much reason as United supporters do to keep an eye on Tuanzebe’s pre-season performances.
