Aston Villa reportedly want Robert Huth.

Aston Villa are interested in signing former Chelsea and Leicester City central defender Robert Huth, according to The Birmingham Mail, as the Championship club look for a replacement for John Terry, who left the Villans this summer.
Huth is a free agent and is without a club at the moment, having parted company with Premier League club Leicester at the end of last season.
However, the Villans are now in danger of missing out on the German centre-back to Championship rivals Stoke City, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
Stoke manager Gary Rowett has suggested to The Stoke Sentinel that Huth is training with his team, and the former Derby County boss seems to be open to signing him if things work out.
Rowett told The Stoke Sentinel about Huth: “We’ll try to help him and that’s where we are at the moment.
“I don’t think there’s any real rush to make a decision or that we’ve got to sign him in the next week or anything like that.
“It’s literally, he’s coming in to train, we’ll see how it is for both parties and we’ll assess it as we go along.”

Missing out
With Villa having FFP issues, they could have to sell some of their best players in the summer transfer window, and that could affect them from challenging for the Championship playoffs next season.
Stoke will be aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League, and the Potters will also be able to pay Huth more salary than Villa.
Having played for Stoke from 2009 until 2015, the 33-year-old German central defender could decide to join Potters and help them get back to the Premier League.
