Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu with Derby County.

Villa and Derby County are both said to be chasing Ampadu in the January transfer window.
And if the claret and blues are to win the race for Ampadu then Gary Cahill may well be need to be signed.
If Villa were to sign Ampadu they would have the Chelsea youngster’s two idols at the club, with the Welsh international hailing both John Terry and Cahill.

“When I became a centre-back, I used to look at role models like John Terry and Gary Cahill,” he said to Devon Live earlier this year.
Terry, of course, joined Villa as Dean Smith’s assistant, as he takes his first steps into management.
And if Smith wants to give himself the best chance of encouraging Ampadu to move to Villa Park then signing Cahill could give them an advantage over Derby.
