West Ham United may have have received a boost in their reported pursuit of Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud.

The Hammers failed to deliver the big name, marquee striker signing co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold promised fans last summer.
Slaven Bilic‘s side suffered as a result with an over reliance on injury-prone duo Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho last season with the pair once again spending more time on the treatment table than the pitch this term.
Strikers – and a proven Premier League goalscorer – is top of West Ham’s priority list this summer.

And Bilic has been linked with Gunners forward Giroud after the experienced star spoke out about his lack of game time under Arsene Wenger in an interview with Canal Plus recently.
The East Londoners have also been credited with an interest in boyhood Hammers fan Jack Wilshere, as reported by the likes of The Sun.
Wilshere, who was shipped out on loan to Bournemouth by Wenger last summer, is out of contract at the end of next season and The Sun claims the England ace is not convinced he will get enough game time at the Emirates and is considering leaving the club.

West Ham are on the hunt for more creativity to add to star man Manuel Lanzini having lost the talismanic Dimitri Payet to Marseille in January.
Neither Giroud or Wilshere are likely to get the game time they desire under Wenger if last season is anything to go by.

So the fact the Frenchman has – much to the chagrin of many Gunners supporters – signed a new two-year deal at the club, could clear the path for Bilic to follow through on his interest in the pair.
Bilic has already publicly said he wants quality over quantity with a focus on “three or four game-changers” and both Wilshere and Giroud fit into that category for where the Hammers find themselves at the moment.
