Speaking on WhoScored’s YouTube Channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Aston Villa could make another signing before the end of the transfer window.

Villa have been one of the more active teams in the window so far, signing Morgan Sanson for a fee of around £15.5m, but their business may not be over yet if Romano is to be believed.

Gregg Evans has previously hinted that Villa could bring a striker in before the end of the month, so don’t be surprised if that’s what Romano is talking about here.

“Yes I think some opportunities could arrive in the coming days, when I mention an opportunity I mean like loan deals with a buy option, this opportunity they will go for, just because they spent money on Sanson, so it won’t be easy to go for another top deal this January, just because as we mentioned in this transfer window it is really complicated,” Romano said (50:00).

“So, if some opportunities will arrive, they will consider this, but if not, they can also stick with this team, there is nothing advanced yet at this moment.”

This is certainly an exciting update.

Villa may not be done yet in this window, and that’s brilliant to hear as they may need to bolster their squad to sustain this push for European football.

Dean Smith will seemingly be backed once again if the right opportunity crops up, and the fact of the matter is that these opportunities do present themselves as you get closer and closer to the transfer deadline.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming days.
