Could a Tottenham and Crystal Palace swap deal for Zaha and Janssen make sense?

Tottenham have been linked to Wilfried Zaha.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is widely reported to be a top target for Tottenham Hotspur, with The Sun reporting this week that they are hopeful of a summer deal.

Palace resisted an approach for Spurs for the winger last summer, The BBC reported, but the Eagles are likely to face a battle to keep hold of him when this season ends and the transfer window opens.

Getting cash for the winger is all well and good, but a swap deal with Tottenham for Vincent Janssen might be a deal worth pushing for.

Janssen has struggled in the Premier League this season, scoring his only goals from the penalty spot, but has been denied a consistent run in the side in recent months due to the outstanding form of Harry Kane.

A deal to bring Janssen to Selhurst Park could be a masterstroke if they can tap into the potential which saw Janssen net nearly 30 goals for AZ Alkmaar last season.

Eredivisie strikers are notoriously unpredictable in how they translate to the Premier League, but Janssen is a Dutch international too and netted against England at Wembley last season.

He is still only 22-years-old and could very easily go on to make Tottenham look silly for letting him go, similar to how Gylfi Sigurdsson has done at Swansea City.

Palace should make this a risk Tottenham have to take, and insist it is the only deal they will accept for Wilfried Zaha.
