Rangers are one of the clubs linked with a move for Docherty, whose chances of a move to Ibrox may have increased on Wednesday.

Could a new signing push reported Rangers target Greg Docherty to Ibrox?
The Scottish Sun credited Rangers with interest in the Hamilton Academical midfielder earlier this month, after he impressed with three goals and six assists in 21 Premiership appearances this season.
And though Rangers may have strengthened their midfield ranks with the loan capture of Queens Park Rangers’ Sean Goss last week – while Andy Halliday has returned from a loan spell with Gabala – another addition perhaps wouldn’t hurt, with Carlos Pena allowed to sign for Cruz Azul this week and Graham Dorrans out until March.

Docherty, arguably, fits better into the Pena/Dorrans bracket than he does that of Goss and Halliday, anyway.
And Rangers may feel encouraged to move for the 21-year-old after Hamilton added to their options in the middle of the park on Wednesday – agreeing an 18-month deal for Chrysovalantis Kozoronis after his departure from Greek Superleague side PAS Giannina.
According to the English Sun, Rangers could struggle to compete with Cardiff City for Docherty’s signature. And we may soon find out, if Kozoronis has indeed arrived as his replacement.
