Midfielder’s home debut was not one to savour.

Aston Villa’s depressing defeat to Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup was not one to remember for positive reasons.
For one young player at least, it was notable.
Youngster Corey Taylor made his Villa debut earlier in 2017, but last night was his first ever game for the first team at Villa Park.
Taylor came on as a second half substitute in the 2-0 defeat, but his chances of making a good contribution were made difficult by the side going down to 10 men.
His call up was reward for strong performances for the under-23 side early on this season.
Taylor had netted in the recent 4-0 win over a Southampton side which boasted Virgil van Dijk.
The 19-year-old winger is an England youth international and is deserving of more opportunities. But coming into an Aston Villa side which is playing poorly and is low on confidence does not make it easy for a young player to shine.
