Robbie Gotts stood out as Championship giants Leeds United drew with Bristol City in the Professional Development League North.

Carlos Corberan has piled praise on Robbie Gotts after the Leeds United youngster produced a ‘very special’ performance against Bristol City’s U23s on Sunday, speaking to the club’s official website.
It was hardly a classic at Elland Road with The Whites and The Robins grinding out a goalless draw in a forgettable Professional Development League North clash.
Despite the presence of Helder Costa, Barry Douglas, Gaetano Berardi and Jack Clarke in the starting XI, Leeds failed to open up their dogged opponents.
But Corberan still found one reason to be positive after a disappointing afternoon for Leeds’ youngsters, singling out the performance of 19-year-old right-back Gotts.
“Gottsy, today he deserved that I say something to him because he did a very special game. It’s not the first time,” Corberan told LUTV.
“When you are watching a player like him improving, you have to be proud of the process.”

Harrogate-born Gotts is yet to make his first-team debut but he has clearly caught Marcelo Bielsa’s eye, making the matchday squad for 12 Championship games last season.
And with Luke Ayling struggling with injuries in the last few months, more performances like this and surely Gotts will step out on the Elland Road turf in front of 35,000 loyal fans rather than a few interested spectators on a sleepy Sunday.
