Leeds earned a 2-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites earned a 2-0 win away at Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Saturday afternoon, despite a run of eight defeats in their last 10 outings prior to the clash against Paul Heckingbottom’s men.
Thomas Christiansen’s men had started the season in emphatic form, keeping pace with the Championship front runners but their recent form has seen them drop into eighth position in the second tier of English football.

Cooper, who starred at the back to help the Whites earn their eighth league clean sheet of the season, claimed that his side must start to average two points a game in order to remain on course for promotion.
“Seven days ago, if you’d have offered us six points from nine we’d have taken it, if we can average two points a game, we know that is promotion form and we have to keep carrying on,” Cooper said.
“We will take a lot of confidence and we have to go again now, we have a massive game at home on Friday against Aston Villa and we will be looking to get another three points against them now.”

Leeds immediately put their win over Barnsley behind them and focus on gaining three points against in-form Aston Villa on Friday night, as they play host to Steve Bruce’s side at Villa Park.
Three points for Christiansen’s side could see them climb into the Chamionship play-off places, if results go their way during the week with sixth-placed Derby County in action against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
