Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been linked with Jude Bellingham, and the Merseyside club’s fans will have been pleased with the performance of the Borussia Dortmund midfielder for England against Italy at San Siro in the UEFA Nations League on Friday evening.

Bellingham has established himself as a key figure for England, and the reported Liverpool target was superb for the Three Lions in Italy last night.

The 19-year-old may have ended up on the losing side, but he was arguably one of the best players on the pitch and was superb in midfield.

Bellingham did his best to drive England forward, imposed himself in the middle of the park, and went close to scoring himself for Gareth Southgate’s side.

Praise for Liverpool target and England star Jude Bellingham

Sky Sports rated the performance of Bellingham as 8 out of 10, and wrote: “Cool, calm and collected in midfield – and all at the age of just 19.

“Along with Foden, tried his best to drive England forward from midfield, even if the final product was lacking from his teammates.

“Should have scored a late header for England to equalise, but it lifted onto the top of the net. A good display overall.”

The Sunday World journalist Kevin Palmer reported on Twitter last week that Liverpool have already made “initial moves” to sign Bellingham next summer, and that the former Birmingham City youngster himself is aware of interest in him from the Merseyside club.

We do not think that Dortmund will sell the teenager in the middle of the season, but if Liverpool pay what the German club want for him next summer, then they would be able to sign Bellingham.
